The Bristol Animal Shelter is a small, underfunded, no kill animal shelter in Bristol, RI. The shelter is run by three Animal Control Officers, and a very small group of dedicated volunteers who help feed, clean, medicate, raise money, educate the public, and give love to each animal that comes through the door. Every year, they save hundreds of animals. Each animal gets the best care, medical attention, and behavior modification that they need. It is their belief that every animal has a forever home. The Bristol Animal Shelter is in the process of building a new animal shelter that will include a stress-free "pod" design for the dog kennels, a veterinary room, about 5,000 square feet dedicated to the animals, and a Humane Education Center. A $10,000 grant would be so useful, and could go towards vet bills, construction of the new building, supplies and furnishings needed for the new building, and food and medication for the animals in the shelter.
