Love the shelter and the team. Worked with them to certify my dog Cooper to be a Good Canine Citizen. We now are volunteering....thank you for all you do.

The training team at BVHS saved my dog from being sent back to a shelter. They helped me gain better understanding of what was going on with him and we have taken MANY classes to work on his behavior. While he still isn't perfect, he is better and I can manage his crazy side. These people are WONDERFUL!!!

Volunteering at HSBV has truly opened my eyes and my heart! I really enjoy what I do and Fridays now have a new meaning because it's the day of my shift! Additionally I am a foster volunteer and there's really nothing more rewarding than to nurture, love and "spoil" all these cuties until they finally find their forever homes. This whole experience has greatly enriched my personal life and helped me grow in so many ways! At HSBV the sky is the limit!

Another wonderful volunteer opportunity is at Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. If volunteering is not something you can easily fit into your life, no worries because it is still so simple to get involved and show your love for animals just by donating everyday items you are probably picking up during your regular grocery shopping trip! You can find their wish list on the website www.greenwoodwildlife.org. When you visit the center to drop off the wish list items you picked up for them, you will find t-shirts for sale and those proceeds all go directly to the animal care! My favorite way to help this organization help animals is by using their King Sooper gift card promo. I bought a $20 King Sooper gift card from Greenwood Wildlife and i refill it with amount of my choice every time I shop at King Sooper then I use that gift card to pay for my groceries...AND 5% OF DOLLAR AMOUNT LOADED ONTO CARD GOES DIRECTLY TO GREENWOOD!! It's an awesome idea and an amazingly simple way to help!

My familymis new to Boulder. The Humane Society was extremely helpful when I found myself caring for an abondoned cat living in the courtyard of the hotel we were staying at. They advised me without pressuring me to bring the cat into the shelter. They were patient and knowledgeable. Because we are new here, I have not made very many local friends with whom I can share this vote and info on FaceBook. If you are reading this, are an animal lover & advocate, have a FB account and are willing to-- please send me a friend request so I can start building my local network of people like me who care about animals. Find me on FB through email: rampaigeous@gmail.com or just email me...please! And remember to share this vote on FB so we can do everything in our power to earn them the grant...those foster critters need it!

Boulder Humane Society is amazing! They have a friendly, loving staff and they work so hard to keep animals and the community happy and healthy! This is truly the best animal shelter I've ever been too. We love Kali, our little pup that we adopted just a few weeks ago.

The Boulder Humane Society has been there through thick and thin for my householod. From the responsible neutiering of a pet at an affordable price to the delicate proceedure of having to put down a sick dog or cremate one. All services have been performed with respect both to the animal and the human. Responsible referrals to treatment of a wounded deer on the highway to a referral to the Greenwood Wildlife Santuary for behavior of baby robins learning to fly. Where would we be without your wisdom and promptness. Thank you! Fern Van Milligan and her furry friends

I'm a volunteer at the shelter's Adoption Center in the Westminster PetSmart; the shelter is very well run and really does a great job caring for the pets who are waiting for a forever home. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to volunteer with this organization.

Such a great place! They show high levels of care and compassion for animals (and humans too!). We adopted one of our dogs at Boulder Humane 10 years ago -- he continues to bring such joy to our lives. I always like to see in the news how Boulder Humane takes in dogs from other shelters that can't keep them. More dogs get saved this way.

They are also the go-to place for positive dog training -- with so many classes and groups. We recently took our 12 year old dog there for some refresher work on leash-walking... we all learned something new!

We were foster parents for kitties at the shelter. We have never since found a more caring and brilliantly run shelter. The level of devotion of all the staff and veterinarians was a constant inspiration. It should be a model for all shelters to emulate. The five years we volunteered there are some of the happiest and most meaningful memories we have that will never be forgotten.

We lost our Llasa Apso, Kyi, to cancer over 20 years ago, and still remember with great gratitude the caring attention given to us by the staff at HSBV. One of their workshop employees even crafted a wooden casket for Kyi to be buried in at the Society's cemetery.

When the HSBV expanded their facility, in or around 2000, the staff contacted us, returned the plaque we had placed on his grave and caringly reburied Kyi in a communal grave site.

We still remember and are still so grateful to the staff at BVHS

We adopted a wonderful little puppy from Boulder Humane Society. He ended up with Parvo and spent several days in their care. Today he is a happy, healthy puppy! His energy is unmatched my our 3 kids. He's become a vital part of our family. Thank you for resucing him and his litter mates from a high-kill shelter and bringing him to us!

We adopted our two kittens from Boulder Humane- they are such big parts of our lives, its hard to imagine them not being there everyday with us. The staff was very friendly and informative, and was quick to tell us the personalities of each of our kitties before we even decided to adopt- it was obvious that they spent time with each of the pets, and loved them all. I also want to thank the Boulder staff for bringing in animals from other, more rural shelters in Colorado- our kittens came from Montrose, and would have been euthanized had Boulder not agreed to take them. Thank you Boulder Humane for all that you do!

We appreciate all pet shelters and the endless hours of volunteer work they provide for the care of abandoned animals in our communities. We currently have three cats and all of them have been adopted from our local SPCA. They are all healthy, active and loving animals which provide our home with lots of joy and comfort.

I walk daily in a place where I get to meet at least ten dogs each morning.
About eight of the ten walking their dogs tell me that they found their canine companions at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, and are so grateful.
So am I ----that's also where I found our two cats.

One of the most impressive, innovative organizations I have been proud to volunteer with! They are on the leading edge of finding homes for their charges, and in training, too!

Just adopted a wonderful dog from HSBV. She came from New Mexico because our Shelter takes animals from other parts of the county in order to 'save' more pets. She was well cared for during her stay with the Shelter, and the adoption process was easy. HSBV has a high, positive profile in my community as a place where you can not only find a forever pet, but also get advice/ help on training and caring for the pet. Everyone is incredibly helpful and friendly. One of the volunteers also started a Small Dog Meetup, which has been an amazing experience for my dog and me! I am so grateful to this organization!

The Humane Society of Boulder Valley exemplifies what every animal shelter should be. With a 92% adoption success rate, they truly care more about the animals than their bottom line. So many shelters, especially those with municipal contracts do not provide extensive medical treatment like Boulder Humane Society does nor are they about finding quality homes for as many homeless pets as they are able.

Boulder Humane Society does such a quality job caring for and placing the animals, and is so well integrated into the community that it's success and the animals' well being is a high priority for most Boulder residents, motivating us to make a great effort whenever and however we can. I've adopted my special dog-friends from there over the years, always knowing I had great support and resource from BVHS to make sure the adoption succeeded.

Every experience I've had here was a great one! From the volunteers who helped me with adopting my kitten to the veterinary clinic employees, everyone was very helpful and approachable. The BVHS is doing great things for the animals and people in Boulder.

I'm one of the hundreds of volunteers here too; I can't have a dog at home but I can make a difference for so many dogs while they are here. I've also adopted many cats here over the last 30 years ;-)

Our family has been adopting pets from the Boulder Humane since we moved here in 1991. They do a wonderful job working with the animals and have a compassionate, caring staff. We are grateful for the rescues from various high kill shelters around the country and support Boulder Humane's work.
