Help Save Pets

Our Enzo was adopted from Help Save Pets! They had to put his knees back together and since he was a "medical case" wasn't getting many takers. He adopted me after I saw him on Petfinder.com and drove an hour to meet him. I was so nervous! I hoped he would love me! He did! He is so smart and connivng and FAST! You would never know his legs are held together by wire and that his start wasn't so great! Everyone who meets hims gets a free smile for the day and comments on the fact that he is the happiest tail waggin puupy they have ever seen (we almost named him Wiper because of the tail wagging thing)! These people do GOOD THINGS in a world so filled with BAD, please vote and help! They save more lives than the animals! I needed a friend and found one in my Enzo Ferarri! (half Italian Greyhound...he's fast n Italian, how could I name him anything else!)

My Jessa was found by a logger, on his truck, clinging for dear life to a log after he had been on the road for hours. She was 2 weeks old and the trucker brought her to hsp and she was fostered by a volunteer,lovingly nursed back to health. I was lucky to get her, every volunteer loved & wanted her! She is the most tenacious, magical, and best cat ever! She is the love of my life! Sorry- guys!

Thank you for caring when others would not. You found our Cleo and Sophie, treated and loved them and kept them together until I came along, hoping for two siblings. I know that HSP treated them well because they are so loving and unafraid, even though they were found abandoned. Bless you for all you do - you truly deserve this award.

I sincerely hope this shelter wins. I was originally in the 40 chosen, but I have since "turned over" to this shelter, as they really deserve the recognition.

Help Save Pets rescued our black lab and a bunch of other pups from a kill shelter,they were all pretty sick and they nursed them back to health to be able to be adopted. we adopted are black lab Finnegan 3 years ago he his an amazing dog and couldn't be more happy with him and how the crew at the hsp helped him. We love him so much he is completly a part of are family, and he knows it too!! thanks goozs03

HSP took a chance on a large, adult, stray dog found by police, when many others wouldn't. He spent several months living in the shelter... waiting. Despite the fact that there wasn't much interest in a dog of his size, age, & unknown background; they kept him AND most importantly ... showed him love & affection.. That was almost 4 yrs ago. Today that dog is part of a loving family & is friends with every child in the neighborhood!! Addtionally.. (3) other neighborhood families have adopted from HSP based on the way they treated our boy. I cannot thank HSP enough for saving our boy & bringing him together with us. It has truely been a life changing experience. You have our utmost gratitude.

HSP rescued our wonderful dog from a kill shelter. She was suffering from pneumonia, and they nursed her back to help. We wouldn't have been able to adopt the most amazing dog we have ever had if HSP had not saved her. They are truly a great organization.

This group of pet lover/caregivers is wonderful. All volunteers work tirelessly in finding homes for abandoned, mistreated animals. They really deserve the monetary award which would help them care for and find forever homes for many more animals. God bless Help Save Pets and their wonderful volunteers.

Help Save Pets is filled with Angels who work tirelessly to same thousands of dogs and cats with endless hard work, determination, love and compassion. I have not seen any organization do dedicated to creating forever homes for so many animals who desperately need love, care and affection. But I personally know the volunteers here really care about those animals as their own,and do all they can! so I hope they get a little help!

My husband and I have adopted two amazing dogs from HSP. The staff there is wonderful and generous and kind and truly loves all of the animals that they take in. We are forever grateful for all of the amazing work they do!

I voted for HSP because I have three cats others may have euthanized. They not only had medical problems, they are FIV positive too. They are wonderful cats.

I have adopted 4 adult dogs from HSP as well as am a volunteer. Three of the four dogs were treated medically by HSP. One almost died of pneumonia, and another was pregnant and had pups a week after arriving. The third was treated for a respiratory infection, had hip surgery, and underwent treatment for heart worm 3 times! Few, if any, other shelters would have invested so much time or money in the care of these animals to give them a chance to find their "forever home". The volunteers and partner doctors truly care and are extremely committed to saving lives...thank you for all you do! I'm proud to be part of this organization. Please help these amazing volunteers to continue providing "second chances" by voting for HSP!

One of our new arrivals at HSP put a big scare into us last night. She is a 7-year-old Springer Spaniel named Patches and she found herself abandoned, living in a house by herself. When a shelter worker heard about her situation, she drove out to rescue her. Patches needed surgery, which we performed right away, but it was touch and go for several hours. As I sat on the floor of the treatment area with this gentle spirit in my arms, unresponsive, I thought of this contest and the spirit of what it means to be a true rescue shelter. The personal connection we feel to these animals is deep and heart felt. I refused to leave her until I knew she was stable until the next morning. If human angels won't fight for them, they have no one. All I wish for Patches is a safe, loving home and I love knowing that I had a part in saving her life and giving her a second chance. Way to go HSP for fighting as hard as we do every day for each and every animal that comes our way!

Help Save Pets really does work one miracle at a time. These animals are terrified because they have been abandoned, left to fend for themselves, dumped at kill shelters, or neglected to such a degree the humane investigators remove them under threat of prosecution. When these animals come in skinny to the point of skeletal or so infested with ticks they have to be anesthetized to help them, we can see they have never known the love of a human being. Sometimes even our veterinary partners shake their heads and say, "Where are you going to start with this one?" These are animals that are naturally unconditional with their love despite the ordeals they go through. I have looked into the eyes of a dog or cat in desperate need, and they seem to know I am here to help. That is what makes HSP fight the good fight every day and a $10,000 boost would be a welcome financial boost to reach out and save so many more. I hope HSP continues working their miracles, each and every day!

I was at the shelter today and learned about Trooper, a cat who was hit by a car and suffered neurologic damage to his right side. His right paw folded under and was not useable anymore. The shelter amputated his leg, sent him to foster care, and he is back today ready for adoption. He is an amazing cat who will go on to find a second chance at love because of HSP. The stories out of this group go on and on and they so deserve the $10,000 grant! Please vote for HSP.

I regularly support HSP with food and litter donations and the generous work they do for these animals is second to none. They rely on the support of the community for 100% of their revenue and are always showing animals at events around town to heighten awareness of homeless animals. The veterinary partners help cure so many problems so the animals can live happy, fulfilled lives. Help Save Pets is a true, true animal rescue deserving of the $10,000!

The volunteers at Help Save Pets are the most amazing people!! They have the biggest hearts and endless compassion for all of the animals. To have an animal neglected, abused, sick, abandoned or mistreated breaks all of our hearts, but the every day heros are the volunteers who nurse them back to health with love and kindness. This rescue operates in the true spirit of a rescue. Any shelter can take the easy ones. HSP sees value in every animal and works hard to stretch their finances so that more can be saved. We adopted our boxer mix from HSP in 2006. They had rescued his mom while pregnant and nursed all the puppies who had kennel cough and the mange back to health. We fostered him and a litter mate and fell in love.. He is now the most spoiled one in the family! Thanks HSP for bringing him to us. .

Our family has adopted two beautiful, loving dogs from HSP over the years. Both were sent to high kill shelters in Tennessee, and without HSP we never would have found them. They completed our little family, and we can tell that they are grateful for the home that they have.

I've adopted two beautiful dogs from Help Save Pets that have postively affected my life. Max, victim of a horder, required surgery prior to my adopting him, and not a day went by wihtout his brining a smile to my face. And Alexa, with patience, is growing into a wonderful little girl. We have been to HSP many times over the years to adopt (our two beautiful black and white cats, Polly and Jasmine!); to get discount spaying and re-release of feral cats; for vet care for foster animals. Six years ago, we adopted our formerly abused & malnourished dog from Help Save Pets after they rescued him. He is a beautiful, happy boy who has brought much joy to our family. Thank you Help Save Pets! It's terrible to think about what may have happened to him without you.
