The Oregon Humane Society has been around for over a hundred and forty years, and they do more then just find pets homes. This shelter is against cruelty and neglect and when you go to the website you can learn how to report animal negligence, rather the JUST browse pets you might like. The men and women who work at, or volunteer at, OHS not only look for an animal that is right for the person looking for a pet but also make sure the family is right for that pet. They find homes that work for everyone; if they don't think the pet will be happy at that home, they won't allow the family to adopt that pet, and will try to help them find an animal that will have a more comfortable life with them. Not only do they make sure to find the right homes for the animals in their care, but their animals are well taken care of and clearly loved by workers/volunteers. The animals are given adequate space as well as excercise. I feel as though they could do even more with this grant.
